Kenny Pickett showcased his talent by passing for 235 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Pittsburgh Steelers to a hard-fought 23-18 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday night.

In their first meeting in Las Vegas, the Steelers clinched their first road win against the Raiders since 1995.

Heading into the fourth quarter, Las Vegas faced a 23-7 deficit. They had an opportunity to level the game in the final minutes, but coach Josh McDaniels opted for a short field goal instead of attempting a fourth-and-4 conversion from the 8-yard line.

Pittsburgh (2-1) had struggled offensively in their initial two games but displayed a marked improvement against Las Vegas (1-2). Pickett completed 16 of 28 passes, with George Pickens contributing four receptions for 75 yards.

T.J. Watt continued to shine, recording two of Pittsburgh's four sacks just days after returning a fumble for the game-winning touchdown in a Monday night clash against the Cleveland Browns. The Raiders had been the only team that hadn't allowed a sack in the first two weeks.

Both teams started with long touchdown passes, as Garoppolo converted a fourth-and-1 with a 32-yard pass to Adams, while Pickett launched a 72-yarder to Calvin Austin.

The Steelers seized control late in the third quarter, as the Raiders trailed 16-7. Garoppolo's interception by Patrick Peterson, throwing into double coverage, led to the Steelers driving 81 yards on six plays. Pickett's 13-yard pass to tight end Pat Freiermuth extended their lead to 23-7 with 3:56 remaining.

Las Vegas made a late push, closing the gap to 23-15 with 5:41 left. Garoppolo threw a 1-yard TD pass to Adams and connected with tight end Michael Mayer for a successful 2-point conversion.

A 26-yard field goal by Daniel Carlson with 2:22 remaining brought the score to 23-18, pushing him past 600 career points.

The Steelers will face the Houston Texans next Sunday, while the Raiders are set to travel to face AFC West rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers.
